if you will be breaking your lease due to PCS orders or a covered deployment. We follow the requirements of the Service Members Civil Relief Act.
Basic Requirements when breaking a lease due to PCS orders or a covered deployment.
b) You must turn in a copy of your orders when you turn in your notice. If you do not yet have a copy of your orders you must turn in a letter from your commander on unit letterhead stating at least the following:
1) Your name
2) Whether the move is based on a PCS or a Deployment.
3) The expected date you will be leaving and if a deployment, whether your
deployment is expected to be longer or shorter than 90 days.
4) Commanders name and phone number
5) Commanders signature
c) After you turn in your notice and a copy of your orders or a letter from your commander you will still be responsible for the next months rent when it becomes due.
d) Schedule a date for your move out inspection with your property manager.
e) Clean house as stated on the
cleaning letter
you received when you moved in. Give your property manager the receipt or a copy of the carpet cleaning receipt.
f) If you had a pet don’t forget to have the property exterminated for fleas and give the receipt or a copy of the receipt to your property manager at the move out inspection.
